Klang PorT, Versatile People, Versatile Port

Started off as an idea by 6 people representing 5 established shipping agencies to create a forum for Port Klang based shipping agents. They were: Sin Siang Yang, Choy Sung Khar, Loong Lee Ning. Mohd. Najuib bin Abu Hassan, Capt. Tan Ek Hong and V. Muthiah. Their vision became a reality on the 14th of April 1982, when the Port Klang Shipping Agencies Association (PKSAA) was registered. In the year 2005, Central Region Shipping Agency (CRSA) was established to further protect interests of a larger member base in various locations & is active to date.

Choy Sung Khar who was then with Borneo Shipping & was appointed as PKSAA’s first president. He served until early 1988 when he resigned from Bomeo Shipping. Mohd. Shees Ismail then become the president and he served until May 1996 when V. Muthiah was elected the president. Starting with only five members, PKSAA’s (now CRSA) membership has grown slowly but steadily and today it has in its ranks 102 members comprising local and multinational agencies.

CRSA is now represented at various local and national liaison committees to ensure the interests of our members are of top priority. We currently represent our members in the following committees:
